Blog post from 8/13, retroposted due to lack of internet/time:
Today we left Yellowstone to head back down south to Jackson.for some white water rafting! We ran through Grand Teton National Park one last time on our way down, and were treated with stellar views of the mountains. Huge improvement over the weather that we had seen while actually visiting the park a week before! We took the opportunity to stop at a lot of overlooks:

The Tetons over a lake with a blanket of clouds |

Mount Moran, complete with super cool black volcanic dike! |

Just some chick and her car. |
So that was very cool! Once in Jackson, we headed to a whitewater rafting company to get on a raft headed down the river. No pictures of this segment, but it was a great experience. We paddled through Class I, II, and III rapids, the best being the Big Kahuna, which pretty much swallowed us whole and spit us out the other side. Unfortunately the sun decided to be shy again during our trip and so we were a little on the chilly side. Not a big deal though! Ospreys were abundant and we were even treated to a sight of two beavers cuddled up under a rock ledge. Definitely worth the trip.
Dinner was at a nice local steakhouse, courtesy of my Dad. He is leaving tomorrow and from then out I will be traveling with various friends and new acquaintances! I've really enjoyed having him along with me for the ride but now it is time for Jane and I to fly. After dropping him off at the airport we will start heading west again and not stop until we hit the Pacific. Stay tuned! Kelly signing out.
